Sensor Tower Acquires Playliner to Expand Live Ops Intelligence in Mobile Gaming

Sensor Tower acquired Playliner, a Finland-based analytics company specializing in Live Operations (Live Ops) data for mobile games. The acquisition strengthens Sensor Tower’s position in gaming analytics by providing deeper insights into how top games engage players and drive monetization through ongoing in-game events.

This marks Sensor Tower’s second gaming-focused acquisition this year, following its purchase of Video Game Insights, and reflects the growing demand for data around Live Ops strategies in an industry projected to surpass $250 billion in consumer spend.

Live Ops has become a critical driver of revenue and retention in mobile gaming, particularly for evergreen titles like Clash of Clans and Candy Crush. Sensor Tower reports that more than 50% of in-app purchase revenue in these games stems from Live Ops content.

Playliner is trusted by publishers such as Applovin, Playtika, and Playrix for its intelligence on event cadence, monetization tactics, and player behavior. The company’s tools help studios optimize game performance and benchmark against market trends.
