Their newest release, Fire Emblem Shadows, isn’t your typical strategy RPG; it’s a wild mashup of Fire Emblem tactics with the treachery of Among Us.
Strategy Meets Social Deduction
On paper, it looks like classic Fire Emblem: three allies teaming up to clear battles with magic and might. But here’s the twist, one of those three is secretly a traitor.
Each round plays out in three dramatic acts:
- The Sun Room – Battle enemies in real time while watching your teammates like a hawk.
- Voting Time – Once the dust settles, decide who you think is the shadow operative.
- The Moon Room – The traitor drops the mask, transforms into a beast of overwhelming power.

Gameplay?
Take to the battlefield in a new twist on strategic Fire Emblem gameplay. In each battle, three allies join forces to seemingly co-operate, but one is secretly working to undermine the others. Keep a close eye on each other’s actions to pick up clues about who may hold ulterior motives. When it’s time, vote to try to identify the source of treachery!
Here’s a quick look at how the game is structured.
Stage 1: The Sun Room
Make your moves in real time to defeat enemies with might and magic. You only have a brief amount of time in this battle to defeat the enemy while trying to figure out who might be the traitor.
Stage 2: Voting
Once all enemies—or your party—are defeated, players will have the opportunity to vote for who they believe to be the shadow operative. If you get it right, you’ll gain an advantage in the next stage.
Stage 3: The Moon Room
The traitor is revealed! The two factions face off against each other in a final battle where the traitor transforms into a beast of overwhelming power and joins the minions of shadow. Keep your wits about you to defeat the other side!
