🕵️Phasmid Games: The New Winning Concept in Mobile Gaming?🕵️
Phasmids are insects that mimic sticks or leaves to blend into their environment. Recently, some mobile games have been adopting a similar approach.
We’re seeing a rise in what I call “Phasmid Games” titles that disguise themselves as low-CPI genres during the First-Time User Experience and in UA creatives, only to reveal their true nature as full-blown 4X strategy games later on.
🥸Why the disguise?🥸
CPI arbitrage. By frontloading an idle-game experience, these titles are acquiring massive user volumes at a fraction of the typical 4X cost. Some standout examples:
🎯 Whiteout Survival – $125M/month 🎯 Kingshot by Century Games – $38M/month
🎲And now, the Phasmid playbook is spreading to Casual Casino.🎲
⭐️Carnival Tycoon: Idle Game has reached $5M/month in revenue since April. It’s cleverly marketed as an idler, but morphs into a Dice Dreams-style social casino game about 20 minutes into gameplay.
Everything in Mobile games is about user acquisition.
