TRACKING RELEASES & TRANSFERS # 2 HALF OF APRIL, 2024
Hi Hyper and Hybrid Fanatics! 🤩📲
Today I bring you another edition of our long-awaited…
💫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 & 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬 💫
I bring you the main launches and transfers from the Hybrid & Hypercasual market in the second fortnight of April.
I highlight 4️⃣ titles.
✅ “Now Genuine Encounters” byVoodoo “Real Connections, No Gimmicks” This is the first line in the AppStore description of the new app from Hypercasual giant Voodoo. 😲 Those who follow my posts know this is at least the third non-gaming app from a big French publisher. 🇫🇷 Let me repeat my analysis. This portfolio diversification towards non-gaming apps is probably related to the growing IAP revenue in this market, which has even recently overtaken mobile games. 💰👈 For me, Voodoo’s strategy is to use its Hypercasual UA machine for non-gaming apps. As well as applying their game development experience to the gamification of these apps. 🧩 It’s Voodoo being the leader in innovation. Again. 🏆
✅ “Color Dots” bySupersonic from Unity The new Supersonic puzzle is an addictive game. 🧩🫶 It has the connect-the-dots mechanics typical of classic chain puzzles. 🟢🟠🔴 The difference is that the player doesn’t connect the dots, because one of the dots moves to the other end. The player only organizes the sequence of movements, which adds to the feeling of a maze puzzle. The result is a simple yet challenging game. 👏 “Color Dots” was developed by uniqcko and transferred to Supersonic’s account on April 26th. 🗓️
✅ “Snake Away” byHoma Another big publisher that has also released a Hybridcasual puzzle is Homa. “Snake Away” is a puzzle similar to “Tangled Snakes” byPopcore(19MM down), but with a three-dimensional setting. 🐍 🧊 This simple change made the game more involving. 👍 “Snake” was developed byAcid Cousinsand transferred to Homa’s account on April 30th. 🗓️
✅ “Screw Bolts & Nuts” bySupercent Last but not least, we have a new game from the up-and-coming South Korean publisher. 🇰🇷 “Screw Bolts & Nuts” follows the trend of puzzle games with screws 🔩 that exploded this year. According to a search I carried out on AppMagic’s database, screw puzzles have reached over 174MM down in the last 10 months. 📈 One of the key inspirations for Supercent’s screw puzzle isRollic‘s “Screw Jam”. But, instead of turning screws to unlock pieces/woods, the player turns nuts to unlock screws. This change brought new mechanics to the trend. 💡
